The White Center Eagles just sent word of their second annual Trunk or Treat, happening today (Saturday, October 26), at 10452 15th Ave SW: “It is open to the public for all the fun, rain or shine. 1-3 in the parking lot, food will be inside.”

The White Center Eagles have a two-part invitation for you:

White Center Eagles, located at 10452 15th Ave SW, are holding a membership drive on October 13th & 14th. The public is welcome to come find out what the Eagles is all about and all of the charitable work we do in our community. We have been part of White Center since 1946. The membership drive coincides with our annual Oktoberfest event on both Friday & Saturday. Friday features a traditional Jagerschnitzel dinner from 5 to 7 pm with music by the Tim Turner Band from 7 to 11 pm. Saturday we’ll be open at noon for the Huskies game and then join us for the Bierlympic Games from 2 to 5 pm. The Bierlympics include cornhole, beer pong & a stein holding contest. Dinner on Saturday will be brats, sauerkraut & German potato salad from 5 to 7 pm.

No Jubilee Days parade this year, but leaders of the White Center Eagles got some parading in over the weekend anyway, riding in the West Seattle Grand Parade on Saturday. The sign on their car identified the riders as Worthy President Jose Rivera Jr., Madam President Jan Leatham, First Lady Cheryl Rivera, Auxiliary Officers Patty and Susan, and “Doby Doggie.”

Best way to avoid the supply-chain snarls – shop local, handmade! You can do that right now at the first holiday bazaar of the season, at the White Center Eagles‘ HQ (10452 15th SW) until 6 pm.

They’re selling lunch, too – grilled-cheese sandwiches and soup. P.S. With road-work closures at 15th/Roxbury and 15th/107th, you’ll want to access 15th by taking a nearby cross-street like 102nd or 106th.

We know, Halloween isn’t even here yet. But the first holiday bazaar of the season is just days away. Here’s the announcement:

The White Center Eagles #2568 (10452 15th Ave. SW) is having its 3rd Annual First Responders Appreciation Dinner Saturday, September 7, starting at 4 PM.

The purpose of this dinner is to meet and thank those who unselfishly give of themselves to help us in emergency situations. We consider a first responder as anyone who has served or is currently serving as a fire fighter, medic, sheriff’s deputy, police officer, or in the Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Navy or Air Force. If you want to show your appreciation to those who help our community when we need it most, please come. If you are a 1st responder, please come so we can say thank you and bring your family!

The results are in and White Center has its new Unofficial Official Mayor – who happens to have run for an “official” political office before (State Legislature, 2010) – the namesake and proprietor of Mac’s Triangle Pub, Geoffrey “Mac” McElroy. If somehow you don’t know Mac, that’s him at the center of our photo above, with, left to right, Justin Cline, a stand-in for Floyd Dog (dogs aren’t allowed at the White Center Eagles HQ), Christine Spencer, and Brian Cooper. Big crowd for the Jubilee Days benefit dinner at which the voting results were announced:

Definitely a White Center who’s-who there tonight – not just the candidates! Look for more fun stuff in advance of Jubilee Days; the festival itself is happening July 19th-July 23rd this year.

If you are a Fleetwood Mac fan, we have a special evening planned for you! Solstice (and Friends) are appearing at the White Center Eagles this Friday night, October 2nd, from 7 PM to 11 PM. They are a Fleetwood Mac cover band. Their repertoire also includes a great selection of rock and blues. We have a large dance floor. Dinner from 5 PM to 7 PM. Please join us for a night of awesome music and dancing. Eagles and signed-in guests only!

The Black River Falls band will be entertaining outside from 5 PM to 9 PM. (with Wally Giffin on steel guitar and Larry Broad on fiddle.)

Chicken S–t Bingo from 3 PM on. Horseshoe To Tournament begins at 12 Noon. Free pool all day – we have four pool tables.

Dinner at 4 PM: Country Style Ribs, Baked Beans, Corn on the Cob, Cornbread, and Marionberry Pie ala mode for dessert. All for $10.

OSO FUNDRAISER at the White Center Eagles, Saturday, May 10th, from 12 Noon to 4 PM. Mod Men will entertain from 2PM to 4 PM (a sixties rock band). Hydro Bob is bringing down his hydroplane simulator – a real hydroplane that you can virtually pilot around Lake Washington for $10 ($5 to Oso fund). Local Pool Players!

Please join us this Friday evening, May 4th, as the always entertaining and the stylish Rich Geiler, aka “Olympia Rich”, performs his trick shot repertoire at the White Center Eagles at 7:30 PM. 10452 15th Ave SW, 206-248-1400.

Eagle members and their signed in guests are welcome to compete in the ongoing eight ball, nine ball, and three ball tournaments throughout the evening. Five pool tables just covered with 860 Simonis. We’re also serving New York or Rib eye steak dinner for $10.00 from 5 to 7 PM.

Saturday and Sunday, May 5th and 6th, Eagle pool players will compete in the 2011-2012 Washington State Eagles’ Men’s Pool Championship. Ball in hand rules. Doubles.
