The suspect arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Sweetheart Failautusi is now charged with murder. From the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office:

A charge of Murder Second Degree (11-1-07472-9) was filed today against Anthony H. Smith, 25, who is accused in the shooting death of a 23-year-old woman in White Center on August 16. The charge includes a firearm enhancement. If convicted as charged, the sentence range is 16 to 24½ years in prison. Smith is scheduled to be arraigned on September 1 at 8:30 a.m. at the King County Courthouse, courtroom 1201. He remains in jail with bail set at $1 million.

  1. KCSO- Good followup-good work. Thank you to whoever is responsible for connecting the guilty parties to the crime.

  2. Why is this second-degree murder? It seems premeditated if he said he was coming back and did come back and shot her.

  3. r u serious an inocent lady dead of a cig good lord i thank my lucky stars i quite smokin i denied people cigs on a daily basis. This is so messed up and yes it should be premetataded and i believe it should still be “a eye for a eye”.

  4. That guy (if he is in fact guilty) deserves the death penalty. What an animal.

  5. Saying “This ain’t over I’ll be back,” is premeditated murder which should be Life or Death. Unfortunately with it being Second Degree Murder he will only get a max of “Life” or 25 years in Prison which means he is out when he is 50. What is sad is he gets to live his life if he survives prison but the thad thing is Sweetheart doesn’t. There is no justice in that

  6. One more thing…The other two guys aren’t accomplisses?? I don’t understand this…They knew if they went back he was going to do this and they went back anyways…They should get arrested and charged with the same crime

  7. On the street it is said that all members invold were gang related. You know what they say, “Live by the sword….. It is just to bad she was to young to go. Parents need to start doing a lot better job.

  8. Yes, the saddest thing is that the children are watching, and worse. Their mothers are violated, and the children themselves are abused over and over, verbally and physically by both parents. So they grow up to think this is normal family and social behavior, that they are so cool if they hurt or kill someone.
