WHITE CENTER RESTAURANTS: Búho is closing, but a successor already awaits

Restaurant/bar Búho (9640 16th SW) announced today that it’s closing. Búho’s announcement says its last day will be September 23. But the space won’t be vacant for long – West Seattle restaurant Mashiko announced last month that it was moving to an undisclosed White Center location, and after Búho’s announcement today, revealed that’s where it’s going. No date yet; Mashiko says it’ll announce its last West Seattle day – after 32 years – next week. Buho opened in 2020; years earlier, the building was home to another restaurant, Uncle Mike’s BBQ.
