The public is invited to attend the Mount View Elementary School Carnival, benefiting its dual language immersion program and its sister school in Honduras.

Mount View Elementary School
Sunday, June 2
3-5 pm

Event activities include carnival games and prizes, face painting, circus acts with lessons, talent show, craft sale, art projects, raffle drawing and more.

Carnival game tickets will be $0.25 per game. Many students earned free tickets at school based on good grades and behavior. Raffle tickets will be $0.50.

Money raised at the carnival will go to Light of Esperanza, a non-profit that is renovating the village school in Vega Redonda, Honduras, Mount View’s sister school.

A portion of the proceeds will also help purchase Spanish language books for the school’s library.

“The school’s library has a wide array of books in English, but the available resources in Spanish are extremely limited,” said Literacy Interventionist Shoshanna Cohen. “The carnival will allow both native
Spanish speakers and those students learning Spanish to have access to a large selection of books in Spanish that will encourage learning.”

  1. …why immerse, instead teach English. You would be benefiting the child when he/she transitions into young adults in many facets of American business, healthcare, science.
