WEATHER: Power outage for part of White Center after wind roars through

That’s a screengrab from the Seattle City Light map showing a power outage that started when that huge blast of wind roared through around 4:30 pm. The outage stretches from east West Seattle down into part of White Center and to South Park. May take a while for it to get fixed, as 26,000+ residences and businesses are without power throughout City Light’s service area – including a big outage south of here, in Burien.

  1. Can you please include the date and approximate time this big wind blew through. According to your story, there is no point of reference. Thanks!

  2. The story is timestamped. But for the record, the big wind was around 4:30 pm, will add!

  3. Hi Tracy, the confusion may arise because, on my phone at least, the mobile theme for this site only shows the date, not the time of a post. Includes both the “home page” listing of stories and the detailed full story display page, and comments as well. Most of the time it doesn’t really matter, but occasionally, like on this story, not being able to see the posting time does make the story a little less informative.

  4. OK, thanks, we can fix that.
