Something to say about the Highline Public Schools budget? Speak out Wednesday
Highline Public Schools leadership has gone public with recommendations for how to balance the budget (see them here). Now, they want to hear from you, and will be accepting comment at this week’s School Board meeting. It’s at 6 pm Wednesday, 15675 Ambaum in Burien (map); see the agenda here.

They are recommending to cut the teen parent program. They want to shift these students to King County for case management and the White Center Early Learning Initiative for child care. I don’t know if this is realistic. These students may be a relatively small percentage of the district, but my concern is that without this program they will have no where to go. The children these students raise will be the future students in White Center-they deserve a great start!!!
