North Highline Unincorporated Area Council: 2 more notes

One more story to come after this, from Thursday night’s meeting (an update on the Steve Cox Memorial fundraiser), but first, two quick notes: The vacancy on the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council is now filled; Rebecca Lopez got the job. She was the only qualified applicant; council leaders said a second person who applied turned out to neither live nor work in the area. Note #2 – parking changes on the way to Roxbury between 15th and 17th: King County has a plan to remove 10 parking spaces on the south side of the street, it was mentioned on the meeting (we’ll be checking with the roads department to find out more).

Writer presented photographs to the NHUAC at their 10/2/2008 meeting of empty alcohol containers found in garbage cans at Lakewood Park/Hicks Lake.
Few beers no problem but finding 87 empties in one garbage can is alittle to much. For the past 9 years I have sent photos and letters to King Conuty from our KC Executive to the maintenance worker with out resolution. My concern students that frequent the park from the two schools located next door observing this illegal activity provides a very poor image for them to follow. With out proper enforcement leads these students to undesirable activities that can easily develope into serious crimes.

  2. Do you have any electronic copies of those photos? Would love to post them here. I would have taken a picture of your display last night but the meeting was past two hours and I had a crisis to rush home to. If not, when we catch up with you re: the water project, we’ll take a picture of it ourselves. That was pretty amazing. The lady I was sitting next to was quite shocked.

Tracy most of the photos were shot with 35 mm but have the display boards. Gave up taking photos of the empties as no body seemed to care in county Gov. Hope we can meet soon on the Storm water project
