Sunday, August 17th 1 pm Gamelan concert. Come enjoy traditional music of Indonesia with Golden Heron Gamelan, performing at Village Green Perennial Nursery in our NEW EVENT SPACE. No idea what kind of music that is? listening to Gamelan is an experience. Suggested donation $20 adult, $10 kids. Bring a blanket and a snack. Street parking for this event.

Did you know that Gamelan was believed to be created by Sang Hyang Guru, a god king that ruled all of the island of Java? He needed a way to summon the gods and invented the gong then created two more gongs for more complex messages – creating the original gamelan set. Gamelan is a set of instruments played together, and still an everyday part of Indonesian culture but you don’t have to travel all the way to Indonesia to enjoy the sounds!
